The Ten Zen Bulls

1. The Search for the Bull

In the pasture of this world, I endlessly push aside the tall grasses in search of the bull. Following unnamed rivers, lost upon the interpenetrating paths of distant mountains, My strength failing and my vitality exhausted, I cannot find the bull. I only hear the locusts chirring through the forest at night.

See the whole series of ten bulls woodcuts and commentaries here.

The Burning Barn

My barn having burned down to the ground,

I can now see the moon.

About

Osho
Osho

I am a disciple, a wanderer, and a lover of two masters. In my ignorance I met my first master Osho and ran away. My disciplehood consisted of being so overwhelmed with fear I ran away over and over and over again.

Vasant Swaha
Swaha

Then one day my barn burned down to the ground. Existence was so loving it brought me to my second master, Vasant Swaha. Existence takes care in ways one can never imagine.
